Launch of the Educational Programmes of the Centre for the Study of the Hellenic Language and Culture for the Academic Year 2026–2027

With the beginning of the new academic year, the Centre for the Study of the Hellenic Language and Culture (HeLaS), of the DIKEPPEE "Stavros Niarchos" of the University of Ioannina, welcomed students enrolled in its programmes, continuing its active contribution to the teaching and promotion of the Greek language and Greek culture.

As part of the winter programme, two face-to-face classes started, one for beginners and one for advanced learners. At the same time, online courses also began, comprising two advanced-level classes (B2–C2) and one B1-level class. The programmes cater to learners with different levels of language proficiency, offering opportunities for systematic Greek language learning and meaningful engagement with Greek culture.

For another year, HeLaS is also continuing its collaboration with the Language Centreof the University of Urbino Carlo BoWithin the framework of this partnership, online Greek language and culture courses are being offered to Italian-speaking learners at both beginner and advanced levels, strengthening the international presence of the Greek language and creating new opportunities for educational and cultural exchange.

The continuation of HeLaS educational activities, both face-to-face and online, reaffirms its ongoing commitment to international outreach, international cooperation and the promotion of the Greek language and culture in a diverse and multilingual environment.

Through its new programmes, HeLaS continues to serve as an active hub for language education and intercultural communication, connecting the University of Ioannina with learners and academic institutions in Greece and abroad.
