{"id":1710,"date":"2025-11-25T10:30:06","date_gmt":"2025-11-25T08:30:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hellenic-center.uoi.gr\/?p=1710"},"modified":"2025-11-28T08:50:45","modified_gmt":"2025-11-28T06:50:45","slug":"1os-diagonismos-dimiourgikis-grafis-gia-mathites-kai-mathitries-gymnasiou","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hellenic-center.uoi.gr\/en\/1os-diagonismos-dimiourgikis-grafis-gia-mathites-kai-mathitries-gymnasiou\/","title":{"rendered":"1st Creative Writing Competition for Junior High School Students"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <strong>Center for the Study of Hellenic Language and Culture (HeLaS)<\/strong> of the DIKEPPEE  \u201cStavros Niarchos\u201d of the University of Ioannina celebrates <strong>International Greek Language Day<\/strong>, which has been established by the Greek State and endorsed by UNESCO, recognizing the timeless contribution of the Greek language to world culture.<\/p>\n<p>As part of the celebration, KE.DE.G.PO. is organizing an event that includes, among other activities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Creative Writing Competition<\/strong> for Junior High School Students<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\ud83d\udcc5 <strong>\ud83d\udcc5 Date:<\/strong> <u>Monday, February 9, 2026<\/u><br \/>\n\ud83d\udd58 <strong>Event Duration:<\/strong> 9:00 a.m. \u2013 1:30 p.m.<br \/>\n\ud83d\udccd <strong>Venue:<\/strong> \u201cStavros Niarchos\u201d DI.KE.P.P.E.E. facilities, University of Ioannina<\/p>\n<p>The competition will be open <strong>to the first 10 Junior High Schools<\/strong> of the Prefecture of Ioannina that submit an application to participate.<\/p>\n<p>Each school will compete with one (1) team (<strong>(5\u20138 students)<\/strong>, formed by the school itself.<\/p>\n<p>Students will compete <strong>creative writing<\/strong>on a topic<strong> related to the Greek language.<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>On the day of the competition, there will be a presentation on the basic principles and techniques of creative writing by Mr. Theodoros Koukias, an award-winning author of young adult literature, to help students become familiar with the process. Afterwards, they will receive an envelope containing the guidelines and necessary materials, and they will have <strong>ninety minutes (1.5 hours)<\/strong> to create their text.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>texts<\/strong> will be evaluated by <strong>a three-member committee,<\/strong> and at the end of the event, awards will be presented to <strong>the participating schools.<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The detailed program of the event, including all activities, will be sent to all participating schools.<\/p>\n<p>The aim of this initiative is to offer students the opportunity to express themselves creatively, discover the power of language, and celebrate the beauty and timelessness of the Greek language.<\/p>\n<p>\ud83d\udce9 <strong>Registration
